Eric Stryson possesses expertise in governance, business model innovation, leadership transformation, talent development, and sustainability. He coaches leaders from business, government, and civil society to think critically about their roles, challenging them to look beyond conventional wisdom, deepen their understanding of complex global issues, and recognise their potential impact on both organisations and society. Over the last 16 years, Eric has been involved in designing, planning, and facilitating over 60 executive education programmes, including experiential leadership programmes with field projects across 15 countries in Asia.
He has also led or supported the development of customised experiential leadership workshops for a range of global corporations, including Allianz, BASF, FedEx, AIA, ORIX Corporation, DBS Bank, SEG Automative, Temasek, Prudential, Marriott, and Standard Chartered.
In addition to leading GIFT’s dynamic team and business, since 2008, Eric also manages client and partner relationships for GIFT and works to develop innovative field projets and approaches to delivering GIFT’s executive education offerings.
Before joining GIFT, Eric spent several years managing multi-stakeholder partnerships between global brands and civil society groups in the United States and China.
Eric writes and speaks regularly on topics related to leadership and talent development and the changing role of business in society. Eric has contributed to MBA programmes and spoken at numerous business conferences as well as those focused on student and youth audiences including: Future Cities Summit, NatGeo Sustainable Cities Summit, Ethical Business Asia Forum, China-US CSR Forum, HKUST MBA, HKU MBA, and others.
Eric is an alumnus of Stanford University and holds a Masters from Hong Kong University.
Coaching & Facilitation Experience
Eric has close to 20 years of experience coaching hundreds of professionals from mid to senior level management and high potential next generation young executives from more than 80 countries. His facilitation experience covers the following:
- Leading discussions centred on the topic of strategic global awareness and sustainability, including reshaping capitalism, the role of government, the role of technology, pricing externalities and climate finance amongst other topics
- Facilitating the production of original business models for leading MNC’s ranging from EV battery circularity, inclusive agricultural production, housing microfinance, remote healthcare solutions and many other sectors
- Facilitating discussion between senior corporate representatives from global companies and leaders from international advocacy groups. Canvassing the views of over 50 international and domestic NGOs, quasi-government groups and research organisations ahead of the 2008 Beijing Olympics
