Team & Job Description

As the Business Development & Content Manager, reporting to the Managing Director and Head of Programmes & Content, you will support the Managing Director in driving business development with existing and prospective corporate and government clients. You will lead the production of collateral and content that supports business development, marketing, and thought leadership, work to arrange and attend client meetings, while also working closely with the Head of Programmes & Content on related content projects.

Specific responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to, the following:

Business Development

  • Support the Managing Director in originating, developing, and closing business opportunities with corporate and government clients.
  • Support business development strategy and planning in close collaboration with the Managing Director and Head of Programmes and Content.
  • Lead the development of high-quality proposals, concept notes, and other collateral in response to client needs, formal RFPs, and new business opportunities.
  • Lead the outreach to secure new prospect meetings, and tracking and management of the business development pipeline, including CRM management, lead generation, follow-up, and proposal conversion.
  • Conduct research on industry trends, market opportunities, and potential clients or partners to inform business development priorities.
  • Collaborate with the ASEAN and GIFT.ed offices to support marketing initiatives, promote GIFT’s services, and advance business development projects on behalf of the Hong Kong office.

Content

  • Lead the development and production of high-quality content and collateral across business development and related marketing.
  • Research, write, and edit flexibly across a range of formats, including proposals, articles, thought pieces, social media content, video scripts, and related materials.
  • Prepare briefing materials, background reports, presentations, and other materials for senior GIFT leadership, where required.
  • Support research and writing for programme and field projects, where required.

Special Projects

  • Coordinate preparation and logistics for speaking engagements, podcast appearances, and related events, including pre-event research, deck preparation, talking points, on-site logistics, session recording, and post-event follow-up.
  • Take ownership of special projects assigned by the Managing Director and Management Team, such as leading and coordinating business development related events.

Skills & Qualifications

  • 8-10 years of experience in communications, writing, business development, sales, market research, marketing, or related fields.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • Excellent written and spoken English; Chinese and other Asian languages are an advantage.
  • Strong writing, editing, and research skills, with sound judgement, creativity, and resourcefulness.
  • Demonstrated experience producing proposals, presentations, concept notes, and other client-facing collateral.
  • Ability to translate complex ideas into clear, compelling materials for different audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multifaceted projects and work effectively across teams.
  • Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to work effectively with senior leadership.
  • Familiarity with business development processes and CRM tools, including pipeline tracking, follow-up, and coordination.
  • Practical understanding of AI and LLM tools to support research, content development, and workflow efficiency.
  • A positive and proactive attitude, with determination, agility, and persistence.
  • Must have the right to work in Hong Kong.
