Sanusha Naidu

Associate, Nelson Mandela School of Public Governance & Senior Research Fellow, Institute for Global Dialogue

Sanusha Naidu is a political analyst and foreign policy expert in Cape Town. She is an associate at the Nelson Mandela School of Public Governance and a senior research fellow at the Institute for Global Dialogue at UNISA. Her work centers on African democratisation, political economy, and South Africa’s foreign policy.  

Sanusha holds a Master’s degree in International Relations from the University of Staffordshire and has previously worked at the Centre for Conflict Resolution and managed the South African Foreign Policy Initiative at the Open Society Foundation. From 2008 to 2010, she analysed Africa’s relations with China and other emerging powers. She has edited two volumes on Africa-China relations, has an extensive publications record and provides commentary for major outlets like, eNCA, SABC, CGTN, Al Jazeera, BBC, and the New York Times.
