Dr. Fithra Faisal Hastiadi

Expert Staff / Spokesperson, Government Communication Agency

Dr. Fithra is recognised as one of the most prominent economists in Indonesia. He currently serves as the Expert Staff and Spokesperson on Economic Issues at the Government Communication Office.

He is widely featured in regional and global news media coverage as a talented economic pundit and actively provides forward-looking macroeconomic insights to support investment strategies and guide market positioning as a Senior Macro Strategist at PT Samuel Sekuritas Indonesia. In parallel, Dr. Fithra is also a Commissioner at InfraDigital, a pioneering fintech company strengthening economic access and social impact across Indonesia.

With over 18 years of academic experience, he is a lecturer at the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Indonesia, specialising in international economics, trade policy, and economic development. He is also the Co-Founder of Next Policy, a think tank devoted to advancing evidence-based policy formulation and fostering public discourse in Indonesia and beyond.

He holds a Ph.D. in International Economics from Waseda University, Japan, and has published extensively on trade strategies, regional integration, productivity dynamics, and production networks across East Asia and ASEAN. His work reflects a consistent commitment to bridging rigorous academic research with actionable policy insights, driven by a vision of a more inclusive and sustainable future.
